(As usual, be prepared for tons of photos capturing her special day!)
For planning this party, Dollar Tree was my best friend. It allowed me to get tons of Spa goodies for a very affordable price. And, I had enough money left over in the budget to get each of the girls a pair of patching pajamas from Children's Place.
The Party Set-up
(aka before the girls have a chance to touch anything)
Emily's Birthday Beauty Bar
Personal double-sided cosmetic mirrors for each of the girls
Supplies to make Shimmer Body Lotion, Rock Candy, q-tips, and cotton circles
Nail files, pedicure kits, nail polish & containers for homemade lip gloss
Lavender Epson salts (dyed pink with food coloring), bath poofs, and washcloths
Pajamas and terry head wraps for each of the girls
(the head wraps were made from a bath towel cut into strips)
Bath Caddies as favor baskets for each of the girls
includes a face mask & flip flops
I purchased flip flops for $1/ea.
Then, I used a bath towel cut in strips to cover the straps on the flip flops to give them a spa feel.
SPA Menu
Treats
Cotton balls - strawberry & pink lemonade flavored marshmallows
Berry Burst Ice Cream Oreos
Strawberries
Nail File Wafer Cookies
Mini water bottles and my favorite Kikkerland straws
Time for Pampering in the SPA!
One of my older daughters and her two best friends helped to work in the spa and treat all the girls to facials, manicures and pedicures. The girls enjoyed fruity facials made with fresh pineapple, papaya, honey & green tea, we made the shimmer body lotion, and pink lemonade lip gloss (recipes here).
Time for Presents!
Cupcakes!
vegan chocolate cupcakes with chocolate frosting
& blue raspberry cupcakes with vanilla buttercream
Make a wish!!!
The Photo Bath (booth)
One of my favorite parts of the party was this photo booth set up as a bath. This was a 'day before the party' idea. Why do I always do that?!? It was a bit crazy pulling it all together at the last minute, but it turned out AMAZING!
I found plastic orbs to look like bubbles for hanging online. I had planned on using them to decorate for the party, but they were even better for the bath setting. My tub cut-out was made from a mattress box I had in the garage and covered with gloss paper donated from a photographer friend, and the curtains were purchased several years ago on clearance from Target.
The Birthday Girl
....and her friends
....and my baby girl. We couldn't resist!
